Project Finance Senior Analyst – Madrid, Spain

Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, United States and Latin America with more than 19 years of experience. The company develops, builds, finances, manages and operates high quality renewable energy projects in several countries, with a portfolio of 2,6 GW (1,3 operational and + 1,3 ready to build / under construction) assets in operations and construction, whole portfolio under development sums up to over 18 GW.

We are currently looking for a Project Finance Senior Analyst to give support to our projects globally in Madrid.

What will you help with:

  • End-to-end execution of complex Project Finance transactions at an international level.
  • Analysis of investment/divestment opportunities in renewable energy projects.
  • Structure and negotiate financing agreements with financial institutions.
  • Oversee and validate detailed financial models and valuation analysis for project funding and investment decision-making.
  • Manage external advisers (financial, legal, technical, insurance, agents) throughout the financing process.
  • Prepare strategic documents, financial presentations, and risk assessments for Investment Committees and senior leadership.
  • Collaboration with the rest of the Financial and Business Area teams.
  • Prepare and oversee analysis and monitoring documents for internal Committees.
  • Analysis of financial sensitivities (main variables, analysis of deviations, etc.) to ensure project viability.

Who you are:

  • Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or Engineering.
  • 8-10 years of experience
    in Project Finance, corporate finance, investment banking, or structured finance, ideally in the renewable energy or infrastructure sector.
  • Fluent in English (C1-C2 level). Italian or French is a plus.
  • High proficiency in Excel (including financial modelling), PowerPoint, and financial information systems.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles; familiarity with
    US GAAP or IFRS
    is valued.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the infrastructure market and energy market.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative — a team player with analytical mindset and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • International exposure, PPAs and M&A knowledge are highly valued.
